How to sign "learn" in ASL
How to Sign "Learn"
“Learn” is signed by taking something from your non-dominant hand and moving it to your forehead:
- Hold your non-dominant hand flat, palm up, in front of you at chest height.
- Use your dominant hand pinched together like holding something small, place it on the non‑dominant palm.
- Then bring that hand up to your forehead, as if storing information in your mind.
Tips
- Think of picking up knowledge and placing it in your mind.
- The motion should flow from palm to brain smoothly.
Common Mistakes
- Doing only part of the motion—must involve both palm and forehead.
- Incorrect handshape—pinch gesture should be clear and small.
Think: “Grab knowledge, store in your mind—learn.”
